A+Rhythmetic is a name for the game. I will explain the rules shortly. This exhibition is a consequence of the game.

All the paintings are linked by the fact that the first step in their creation was to create the structure of fluent lines and to grow colour stains from it.

While painting, in many places I hide a scheme of rhythm. I believe it remains recognisable: with careful observation, it is possible to rebuild and guess the structure of the hidden rhythm everywhere around us and in painting.

I think this is an interesting disclosure — finding a rhythm anywhere you are, or can reach in your imagination. Rhythm is so frequent and so close to us that we no longer think about it. Shapes, colours, lights and sounds are the most evident rhythms.

A fracture in perception occurred when I realised that smell has a rhythm: whether you pass every day through the same plant or bakery, or breathe in the damp mushroom odour of the forest after rain.

The most interesting rhythm is variable and unmonotonous — one that first looks unclear, then becomes more obvious once discovered.

So I present a joyful game to everyone. We start to play here; then everyone can play at the most favourable moment: carefully explore what faces your eyes, what sounds in your ears or thoughts, and find one rhythm or several.
